PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Area Community Center and Fox's Pizza teamed up to hold their second annual fund-raiser, "Eat a Pizza, Make a Difference," during the week of April 10-16.

Rob McCoy director of the community center, aimed for financial fitness with the Fox's Pizza fox.

The goal for the fund-raiser was to sell 1,000 pizzas, allowing Fox's to donate a dollar a pizza to the community center; however, if 2,000 pizzas were sold, $4,000 would be donated.

Exceeding last year's sales of 1,500 pizzas, this year, 1,724 pizzas were sold, and Fox's donated $2 a pizza to the center.

"The Community Center is very grateful of the donations from Fox's Pizza," McCoy said. "They are helping to keep the center here and flourishing. They do a great job of helping local non-profit organizations."

During the fund-raiser week, people could purchase pizzas at Fox's or coupons for the pizzas at the center. McCoy was the top seller of coupons, selling 166. Jeanne Curtis followed selling 140 coupons.
The proceeds from the fund-raiser will be used throughout the center as needed.
