BRADFORD — The Punxsy wrestling team rode pin fall victories from Nathan McGregor, Carl Langley, Josh Neal and Tige Woodson into a 42-24 victory over Bradford Tuesday night in Bradford.
McGregor (24-7) earned a fall over Matt Ostrander in 3:41 at 145 pounds, and Langley (15-15) pinned Dylan Lamberson in 3:15 at 160 pounds.
At 171 pounds, Josh Neal (10-15) won by fall over Rob Hilfirty, and Tige Woodson (13-18) pinned Francis Durnein during the final second of the first round at 189 pounds.
Punxsy (12-11) won six of 11 bouts, including a pair of decisions by Seth Spack and Tyler Titus.
Spack (25-5) took out Ryan VanGuilder, 9-2, at 135 pounds, and Titus (4-23) edged Dan Kline at 215, 2-1.
The Chucks' Josh Schuckers (21-10) and Kody Young (26-2) each won by forfeit, while there was not a match at 140 pounds.
Punxsy's losses came from Joel Bowers (17-13), Devan Snyder (6-23), Neko Cappella (26-5), Duell Thompson (15-14) and Brennan Knarr (1-11).
Bowers lost by a 3-1 decision to Evan Smith at 119 pounds, and Luke McMurtrie pinned Snyder in 1:59 at 119.
In possible district championship preview, Zach Britton bested Cappella, 1-0, at 130 pounds, and three-time state-qualifier and senior Mark Havers pinned Thompson in 3:53 at 152 pounds.
Punxsy's final loss came from Knarr, who was pinned by Dakota Sera in 1:10 at heavyweight.
The Chucks will now prepare for their final match this season, which takes place Thursday in DuBois. Bradford (8-9) hosts St. Marys Thursday.
