Phyllis J. Grube, 88, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Sept. 28, 1923, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Charles and Blanche (Dennison) Hurd.
May 26, 1943, she married Richard M. Grube, who preceded her in death July 19, 2001.
She was a member of the First Church of God.
Mrs. Grube enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Debra Reitz and husband Robert of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Robert Reitz of New Castle, April Shaffer and husband Ken of Punxsutawney, Jeffrey Reitz and wife Christina of Beaver Falls, Richard Grube and wife Noelle of South Carolina, and Christopher Grube and wife Elizabeth of South Carolina; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard C. Grube; a sister, Carrie Mae Campbell; and a brother, Melvin Hurd.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Janice Bracken officiating.
Interment will be in Circle Hill cemetery.
