Phyllis E. Swineford, 88, of Airport Rd., Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at McKinley Health Center.
She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Jefferson County, the daughter of William Wyant and Ruth Armstrong Wyant.
Sept. 13, 1941, in Punxsutawney, she married Harry W. "Filse" Swineford, who preceded her in death March 13, 1996.
Phyllis was a homemaker and was known as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving relatives include four children, Harriet D. Kerr (Ted) of Punxsutawney, Ellen Dianne Pifer (Howard) of Reynoldsville, Tom Swineford (Debbie) of Brookville and H. Keith Swineford (Teresa) of Punxsutawney; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie McAninch, and a granddaughter, Sarah Ann Swineford.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Fillhart officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetary, Knox Dale.
