The Miners' Braedon Pennington's (pictured) talents at the mound and plate powered Rossiter to a 1-0 shutout over Denny's Beer Barrel Pub Thursday night at Clearfield High School. In addition to throwing all seven innings for a shutout, Pennington blasted a solo home run to notch the only run scored on the night. Pete Meterko, Kyle Neal, Rick Bishop, Garrett Zimmerman and Jordan Mesoraco each recorded a hit for the winning squad, as well. With the win, the Miners took a 1-0 lead over Denny's in the best-of-seven Federation League semi-finals. The Miners will return to action today at Shaffer Field in Rossiter at 5:30 p.m. for Game 2 against Denny's.
