PennDOT: Route 36 Scheduled to Close at the End of the Month for Sawmill Run Bridge Replacement Project

July 11, 2013

PUNXSUTAWNEY — PennDOT would like to remind travelers that Route 36 in Punxsutawney Borough, which was scheduled to close on July 8, will now close on July 29, due to delays in utility moves as a result of the recent flooding.

Beginning Monday, July 29, Route 36 (West Mahoning Street) will be closed between the intersections of Walnut Street and Foundry Street for the replacement of the bridge carrying Route 36 over Sawmill Run.

A detour will be in place using Route 436 and Route 119. This detour will be in place until November of this year.

This $1,091,540 bridge replacement project is being constructed by M & B Services, LLC of Clarion.
