PennDOT issues Summervile Bridge closure details

August 15, 2014

Beginning Monday, Aug. 18, the Route 3007 Summerville Bridge will close to traffic between Route 28 and Broad Street to facilitate the bridge replacement project, but will remain open to local traffic. The bridge is expected to reopen Saturday, Aug. 23. All work is weather dependent.

A posted detour will be in place using Route 3022 (Roller Coaster Road) to Route 3003 (Mount Pleasant Road) to Route 28. Work will be done on a 24-hour schedule during the detour.

PennDOT reminds motorists to slow down, be alert for changing conditions, and drive responsibly in the work zone. Minimize distractions and obey flaggers for your safety and the safety of the workers. Congestion and delays are possible.

This $3,771,853 bridge replacement project is being constructed by Plum Contracting, Inc. The project is expected to be completed the end of October 2014.
