Peggy J. (Bracken) Price, 64, Burnside, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at her home.

With heavy hearts, we say good-bye to our wife, mother, Nana and friend, who died after a recent diagnosis of cancer.

Mrs. Price was a long-time devoted member of the Burnside Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where she shared her love of the Lord with the community children as a Sunday School teacher,VBS teacher and youth leader. She was also a member of the choir and quartet, as well as being instrumental in planning many of the holiday activities at the church.

She enjoyed cooking; quilting; crafting and flower arranging. Her greatest love was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Although our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that she has been reunited with her son, Matthew, in the presence of the Lord.

The daughter of Ellsworth P. “Buck” and Florence V. (Wright) Bracken, she was born Sept. 12, 1946, in Indiana.

Mrs. Price married her husband, Arthur “Butch” Price Jr., who survives, Nov. 8, 1964.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include four children, Karen Fetterman and husband Sam Jr. of Rossiter, Patricia Wong and husband Mike of Manchester, England, Deanna Fleming and husband Tod of Punxsutawney, and John Price and wife Kristen of Burnside; and 10 grandchildren, Morgan Fetterman, Mitchell Fetterman, Nicholas Whitney, Dustin Whitney, Adam Whitney, Olivia Fleming, Evan Fleming, Nathanial Price, Tyler Price and Aidan Price; five sisters, Barbara Hurd of LaJose, Joan Daisher of Mahaffey, Marilyn Fishel of Commodore, Connie Shrader of Cambridge Springs, and Angie Yeager of Sykesville; and two brothers, Robert Bracken of Reading, and Paul “Ed” Bracken of Burnside.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Ray Price, GMG3, U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Iowa April 19, 1989.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd. in Hillsdale.

Friends will also be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of the funeral service, Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Burnside Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Burnside, with the Rev. Marvin E. Nelson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Burnside Cemetery.
