Pedestrian treated for injuries after accidental strike

PUNXSUTAWNEY — A pedestrian who was accidentally struck by a vehicle at 5 p.m. Tuesday while walking through the Groundhog Plaza parking lot was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

According to Punxsy Borough Police, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up driven by Gregory Forrest, 20, Punxsutawney, accidentally struck Amy Trithart, 36, Reynoldsville, while she was walking through the parking lot.
Police said that Trithart was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS for treatment of unknown injuries.

Police said the investigation is continuing.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Central Fire Department.
