Paulette Hollenbaugh, 63

Paulette Hollenbaugh, 63, Dayton, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born June 19, 1948, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Charles Edwin and Cora Edna (Tyger) Grinder.

April 22, 1995, she married Ed Hollenbaugh, who survives.

Mrs. Hollenbaugh was a resident of Punxsutawney most of her life prior to moving to Dayton in 1995.

She attended the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Cloe United Methodist Church.

She was a registered nurse and worked in the nursing field for more than 42 years. She worked at Punxsutawney Area Hospital for 32 years. During her tenure at the hospital, Mrs. Hollenbaugh was the infection preventionist and surgical services manager for 20 years. 

She was a member of the Perianesthesia Nursing Association and the Clearfield Hospital Nursing Alumni.

A very caring and professional nurse, Mrs. Hollenbaugh had a beautiful smile, a hearty laugh and a great working relationship with her co-workers. She will be sadly missed in the healthcare profession.

She enjoyed working outdoors with flowers, cooking and baking, and cleaning.

Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ed, surviving relatives include a daughter, Sherri (Stark) McMahan and husband Michael of Punxsutawney; a son, Steven Stark and fiancé Michelle Lettie of Rural Valley; three grandchildren, Gillian Stark, Jadyn and Emily McMahan; and a brother, Bill Grinder and wife Bobbi of Reynoldsville.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney, and from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at the Glade Run Presbyterian Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Glade Run Presbyterian Church, co-officiated by Pastors Laurie Milligan and Paul Thompson.

Interment will follow at the Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Hollenbaugh's memory to Punxsutawney Area Hospital, Madlyn Mankovich Cancer Fund or Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church.
