Paul H. Beck, 86, Route 119, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 21, 1924, in Winslow Township, a son of the late Cleveland L. and Mary (Lindemuth) Beck.
May 25, 1957, he married the former Nora Lorraine Wachob, who survives.
Mr. Beck previously worked for Gaston Lumber.
He was a member of the Henderson Grange No. 1315 and the Ponoma Grange.Â He volunteered for the Jefferson County Fair for many years since the 1960s, when it was located in Sykesville and called the Town & Country Fair.
He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandson, Andy.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two children, Mark Beck of Apollo, and Beth McClleland and husband Scott of Reynoldsville; two brothers, James and Albert Beck, both of Reynoldsville; a sister, Annie Koons of Tennessee; two sisters-in-law, Mae Jean Beck of Brockway and Velma Beck of DuBois; and a grandson, Andrew Beck.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ira, Amos, Archie and Melvin Beck; and three sisters, Lydia McAninch, Ida Mae Armagost and Betty Beck.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Fillman officiating.
Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Township.
