Patricia A. Cressley, 61

Patricia A. Cressley, 61, Rochester Mills, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at home, after a two-year battle with brain cancer.

She was born April 26, 1953, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Paul I. “Ike” Mottorn and June (McGaughey) Mottorn, who survives.

On June 26, 1971, she married Fred A. Cressley, who survives.

She was a member of the Juneau United Methodist Church.

She worked as the CFO for DuBois Regional Medical Center for five years and has worked at DRMC for more than 25 years as a C.P.A.

She graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

She was very involved in sports. She participated in master and senior Olympic competitions in volleyball, basketball, javelin, hammer throw, shot put and discus. She also participated in the Warrior Dash in 2012. She received an All-American Track and Field Award for her accomplishments in 2013 and has received more than 100 medals throughout her sporting career. She was on the first ever Punxsutawney girls’ basketball team, where she was the MVP. She passed on her love of sports to her grandchildren, Caden and Griffin.

She was a member of the Butler Cubs, which is a senior women’s athletic organization.

In addition to her husband and mother, surviving relatives include three children, Chad Cressley of Washington, D.C., April Barrick of Punxsutawney, and Mindy McClenahan and husband Jeremiah of State College; three grandchildren, Caden and Griffin Barrick and Liam McClenahan, and another grandchild expected by Mindy and Jeremiah in August; a sister, Jill Zimmerman and husband Shannon; and a brother, Robert Mottorn and wife Fran.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the C’easons Project, a project close to Patricia’s heart. This project supports families in need and at times of crisis. Donations to this project may be mailed to Attn: Department of Development, P.O. Box 447, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801. Donations may also be given to Lisa’s Ladybugs, P.O. Box 692, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Patricia’s sister, Jill, and her husband, Shannon, for the great care and support they generously gave to Patricia and her family.
