PART ONE OF THREE

May 26, 2011

The first project of three is nearly complete with the demolition of this house Monday, located at the corner of Route 310 (Elk Run Avenue) and Route 119 (Ridge Avenue). According to PennDOT, the property was purchased from Brian Horner, who was using the former store and house to store tires. The demolition of the structure is a sight and distance improvement project, which is a portion of two other projects: The replacement of the bridge on Route 119 that travels over Elk Run Creek, and a third project which involves construction of a turning lane at the intersection. Those two projects will begin construction in the 2012 construction season. (Photo by Tom Chapin)
