PAHS to crown Winter Queen, Princess at Friday’s BB game

Recently, the PAHS senior class chose six senior girls to represent it as the members of the 2013 Winter Queen’s Court. This year’s court includes Shayla Brink, Maija Carol, Audrianna DeLacour, Lauren Kachmar, Shannon Rosetti and Lauren Wolfe. The senior girl with the highest number of votes will reign as queen, and the girl with the second-highest vote total will be named princess. The crowning will take place during halftime of Friday’s varsity basketball game.

The court will also be honored during the school day with the Queen’s Court Assembly, and the Student-Government-sponsored Winter Queen’s Court dance will be held on Saturday.

• Shayla Bawn Brink, daughter of Jim and Cindy Brink of Glen Campbell, is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in volleyball, grades 9-12; Spanish Club, grade 10; Key Club, grades 9-10; Varsity Club, grades 10-12; and Powderpuff, grades 11-12. She has also been an office helper for the main office and athletic office in grade 12. Her honors and recognitions include being named to the honor roll in grades 9-12; receiving a letter in volleyball in grades 10-12; and being a co-captain for volleyball in grade 12. Brink’s post-graduation plans include attending Indiana University for 
nursing. Her escort will be Jordan London.

• Maija Elizabeth Carol, daughter of Richard and Thalia Carol of Punxsutawney, is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in track and field, grades 9-12; Powderpuff football, grades 11-12; Art Club, grade 12; SADD Club, grade 12; and Future Health Services Club, grade 12, serving as the president. Her honors and recognitions include Student of the Month, grade 10, and PRIDE, grade 11. Carol’s post-graduation plans include attending Venango College to major in nursing. Her escort will be Caesar Maruca.

• Audrianna Jane DeLacour, daughter of Nevin and Carol DeLacour of Coolspring, is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in cheerleading, grade 9; track and field, grade 9; golf, grades 10-12; select ensemble, grades 9-11; Ski Club, grades 9-11; Dramatics Club, grades 9-12; Show Choir, grade 10; Key Club, grades 10-12; Student Government, grades 10-12, serving as president this year; Powderpuff football, grades 11-12; Special Olympics helper, grades 10-11; Varsity Club, grades 11-12; Bible Club, grade 11; Science Club, grades 10-12; Spanish Club, grades 9-12; and Chorus, grade 9. She was also a member of The Shadow staff in grade 12. Her honors and recognitions include being named to the honor roll in grades 9-12; Student of the Month, grade 10; MVP in cheerleading, grade 9; golf letter winner, grades 11-12; MVP in golf, grade 12; and being the Career Woman’s Girl of the Month for September 2012. She is employed at Country Cone. DeLacour’s post-graduation plans include attending college with a major in secondary English education. Her escort will be Alex Bevak.

• Lauren Mykel Kachmar, daughter of Mike and Timi Kachmar of Punxsutawney, is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in Key Club, grades 10-12; Spanish Club, grade 12; Science Club, grades 11-12, Powderpuff, grade 11; served as a Camp Friendship counselor; and has participated in Project Linus as a blanketeer. Her honors and special recognitions include being named 
to the honor roll in grades 9-12 and Student of the Month. She is a member of SS.C.D. Church. Kachmar’s post-graduation plans include attending Clarion University for elementary education. Her escort will be Devan Snyder.

• Shannon Marie Rosetti, daughter of Randy and Yolanda Rosetti of Reynoldsville, is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in Spanish Club, grades 10-12; boys’ basketball stat, grades 11-12; Key Club, grades 9-10; and SADD Club, grades 9-11. Rosetti is also employed by Burger King. Her honors and recognitions include being a PRIDE student in grade 11. Rosetti’s post-graduation plans include attending Edinboro University with an undecided major. Her escort will be Pasquale Defelice.

• Lauren Darlene Wolfe, daughter of Bill and Melinda Wolfe of Anita, is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in tennis, grades 10-12, serving as a captain in grade 12; Ski Club, grades 9-12; softball, grades 9-12; basketball, grades 9-10; Powderpuff, grades 11-12; Spanish Club, grades 11-12; Science Club, grade 12; and Varsity Club, grade 12. Her honors and special recognitions include being named to the honor roll in grades 9-12; Student of the Month, grade 10; and PRIDE student, grades 10 and 12. Wolfe’s post-graduation plans include attending Thiel College to major in Medical Technology. Her escort will be Austin Smith.
