PUNXSUTAWNEY — Tonight at 7 p.m., members of the Class of 2013 at Punxsutawney Area High School will take what may be the most important walk of their lives thus far, as they walk the stage to claim their diplomas.

And the man who has been chosen to see them off from PAHS, Alan Freed, is a man with a diverse background and plenty of local ties.

Freed, who currently lives in Ambridge — nestled in Beaver County west of Pittsburgh — with his wife of 22 years, Amy, and his 14-year-old daughter, Carrie, was a member of the Class of 1986 at PAHS.

He works as a photographer and a Web designer, but plenty in the area will recognize his name, as he still shoots photos at Steelers games for The Spirit in addition to his freelance photography.
