Ora S. White, 87

Ora S. White, 87, of Punxsutawney, went to be with her Lord, Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. White was born April 10, 1925, in East Run, a daughter of the late Glen Mountain and Alice (Mumau) Mountain.

She was married to Foster White, who preceded her in death in 1970. They spent most of their lives in Juneau and the Canoe Ridge area.

She was a member of the Canoe Ridge Church of God and an active member of the women's Missionary Society.

She spent many hours doing word searches and kept busy by crocheting and knitting baby blankets, afghans, placemats and dishcloths, etc., just to give them away.

She worked many years as a clerk at Mahoning Hardware and later retired from the housekeeping department at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Ora is survived by two sons, Eugene White and companion Phyllis Lopez of Punxsutawney, and Lawrence White of St. Marys, Ga.; four daughters, Elda Vee Baun and husband Otto of Cressen, Marilyn (Kay) Neiswonger and husband Larry of Punxsutawney, Lois Campbell and husband Steve of Elizabethtown, Tenn., and Juanita Pape and husband Gregory of Punxsutawney; a daughter-in-law, Leona (Gromley) White; 20 grandchildren, Donald White and wife Betty and Rodney White, all of Calif., Donna (White) Kinsey and husband Bill, Gregory White and wife Barbara, Marsha (White) Lunsford and husband Gill, Wanda White and husband Mike Negra, Joan Saunders and husband Bobby, Vickie Miller, Gail Owens and husband Ken, Steven White and wife Janice, Gina (White) Heigel and husband Carl, Leonard White, Carl White and wife Laurie, Jeffrey Baun and wife Barb, Randal Baun, Dana (Neiswonger) Emmell, Darla (Neiswonger) Stanford and husband Sam, Joe Kirk and wife Connie, Melissa (Kirk) Stahlman and husband Dave, and Will DeFelice II and wife Kerry; 29 great-grandchildren; Brett and Shelly White, Ryen, Brittany, Carissa and Cameron White, Abby and Erin White, Justin Anderson, Sara Lunsford, Doug and Shane Saunders, Mike and Daniel Miller, Dana, Justin and Erin Owen, Jordan, Kenton and Parker White, Valarie and Jared Heigel, Eric and Heather White, Seth and Adam White, Natalie and Renee Baun, Nyssa Finnefrock, Brittany (Stanford) Hutchinson, Sammy Stanford, Scott and Alex Stahlman, Tyler, Kaitlin and Hannah Kirk and Austin and Steve DeFelice; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry (Sam) and Fred Mountain; a sister, Edna Fyock; two sons, Forrest (and wife Bernice) White and Donald White; and three daughters-in-law, Joann (Peach) White, Nelda White and Ann White.

Ora's great love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were what kept her going.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Earl Flick officiating.

Interment is private for family.
