One injury reported in five points wreck

PUNXSUTAWNEY — There was one injury reported in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 1:10 p.m. Friday at the five points intersection in Punxsutawney.

According to Punxsutawney Borough Police, a Chevrolet Sedan, driven by Stacey Lasher, Punxsutawney, was traveling north on West Mahoning Street and was making a left onto Route 436.

Police said that a Pontiac SUV driven by Autumn Shirey, Mayport, was traveling east on Perry Street and pulled out from Perry Street while failing to stop again at the Lincoln Way intersection, striking Lasher’s vehicle, which was turning left onto Lincoln Way.

Police added that Lasher was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS for treatment of unknown injuries, while Shirey was not injured in the crash.

Police said that both vehicles were towed from the scene by Rebuck’s South Side Service.

Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Punxsutawney Fire Department.
