Oliver H. Snyder Jr., 72, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at his home.

He was born March 1, 1939, in DuBois, a son of the late Oliver H. and Margaret M. (Mirandi) Snyder Sr.
He was married to Heidi (Scarletta) Snyder, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Snyder was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served as a private in the U.S. Army.

He was a truck driver for Krise Bus Company and a member of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Oliver H. Snyder III of Reynoldsville and Michael L. Snyder of Punxsutawney; two daughters, Constance Smith of Reynoldsville and Joy Reed of Punxsutawney; three step-sons, Walter Wolfe of Sykesville, Dustin Wolfe and Brandon Wolfe, both of DuBois; two step-daughters, Candice Taylor of DuBois and Denise Camise of Reynoldsville; a sister, Margaret Marie Osburne of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul F. Snyder.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
