Olive Mary Fye, 91

Olive Mary Fye, 91, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 28, 1919, in La Jose, a daughter of the late John and Belle (Williams) Sylvis.

Mrs. Fye was married to Glenn Fye, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Big Run Christian Church and the Sykesville Senior Citizens.

Surviving relatives include three children, LeRoy Fye and wife Cindy of Curwensville, Harold Fye and wife Joyce of Atlanta, Ga., and Nancy Breth and husband Larry of Punxsutawney; a sister, Dorothy Carlson of Erie; a brother, Ray Sylvis of Erie; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Fillman officiating.

Interment will be in Lakelawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rescue Hose & Ladder Fire Company of Curwensville.
