Our beloved, Ogden Clayton Thompson, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at home in Naples, Fla.
He was born June 17, 1938, in Punxsutawney, to the late Clayton Walter Thompson and Sara Ogden Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his sister Ellen Rose Thompson Fohner.
He is survived by his spouse, Nancy Evelyn Eley Thompson; children Eley Ogden Thompson (Kara) and Clayton Walter Thompson, II (Nancy); and grandchildren Sherman, Mitchell, Saunders, Turner, Sophia and Sullivan.
He is also survived by his brother, Richard Walter Thompson (Ann), as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Ogden devoted his life to his family.
His talent as an entertainer and musician was enjoyed by countless people through celebrations and performances spanning seven decades.
He is particularly remembered for his piano playing.
He spent a successful career in computer technology, both in sales and in founding Pinpoint Engineering.
He enriched the lives of so many with his friendship, generosity, energy and deep dedication to others.
Ogden loved visiting with family and friends, enjoying fabulous wines, making memorable dinners, and of course, as he used to say, having cognac and chocolates for dessert.
Memories of countless stories, songs, jokes, laughter and love are his legacy and an inspiring gift to all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ogdenâ€™s name to the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz (youth programs and scholarships), 5721 Jonestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA.
