Norma Jean (Crissman) Fetters, 82, Indiana, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Scenery Hill Manor.

She was born April 6, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of William McKinley and Sylvia Mae (Turney) Crissman.

She was married to John Philip Fetters, who preceded her in death in 1973.

Mrs. Fetters was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Indiana. She was raised in Smicksburg and was a 1947 graduate of Punxsutawney High School.
She was a registered nurse, having graduated from the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She then earned her BSN Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in 1956 and her master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1974.

She had worked in various nursing positions throughout her career with employment at both Allegheny General Hospital and Indiana Hospital.

Surviving relatives include Maxine Amundson of Punxsutawney, Jenny and June Crissman of Verona, Vicki and Raymond Drake of Punxsutawney, Amund and Sherri Amundson of Auburn, Ind., Gail and Thomas Salada of Boalsburg, Nancy and Douglas Amundson of Atlanta, Ga., and other devoted friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brian Miller and the Rev. Arlene Schweitzer officiating.

Private interment was in the Smicksburg Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Bence-Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana.

Her family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 100 S. Sixth St., Indiana, Pa. 15701; Scenery Hill Manor, 680 Lions Healthcamp Rd., Indiana, Pa. 15701; or to the charity of one’s choice.
