Norma J. Mottern, 67, Stump Creek, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.

She was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Marie (Lockard) Peace, who survives, of Punxsutawney, and the late Merle G. Peace Sr.

In December 1992, Mrs. Mottern married her husband, Gaill Mottern, who preceded her in death.

She was employed by the Area Agency on Aging, where she was a caregiver and also delivered the Tribune Review with her husband for many years.

Mrs. Mottern enjoyed her family and friends and also her dog, Cuddles.

In addition to her mother, surviving relatives include a brother, Ronald Peace and wife Judy of Sewell, N.J.; three sisters, Jackie Miller and husband Jeff, Nancy Davis and husband Paul, and Linda Humble and husband John, all of Punxsutawney; four step-children, Brian Mottern, Bruce Mottern and wife Bonnie, and Virginia Mottern Sprague and husband Brian, all of Reynoldsville, and Blaine and wife Sandy of Stump Creek; many nieces and nephews; and 13 step-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Merle “Butch” Peace.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating.

Interment will be private.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Mottern’s name to Hahne Cancer Center or DuBois Hospice.
