No injuries reported after patrol car wreck

PUNXSUTAWNEY — There were no injuries reported when Punxsutawney Borough Police patrol car No. 26 was involved in a two-vehicle accident at approximately 3:45 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Sutton Street.

According to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police, a Ford Crown Victoria squad car driven by Punxsutawney Borough Patrolman John Brown was traveling west on Sutton Street when he stopped at the intersection with Chestnut and had pulled too far into the intersection when his front bumper was struck by a Ford pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old juvenile that was traveling north on Chestnut.

Police added that the juvenile’s truck was spun around and came to rest facing south on Chestnut.

According to police, the juvenile’s truck received minor damage, and the plastic bumper was knocked off the patrol car during the accident.

Police said there were no injuries, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
