Nicholas Michael Lorenzo, 40

Nicholas Michael Lorenzo, 40, of San Francisco, Ca., passed away on March 2, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1972, in DuBois, and was raised in Punxsutawney. He was the son of Nicholas F. Lorenzo, Jr., of Punxsutawney and Patricia C. Lorenzo of Aptos, Calif. He is also survived by his brother, Matthew C. Lorenzo, of San Jose, Ca., and his grandmother, Jean D. Lorenzo of Brockway.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Nicholas F. Lorenzo, M.D., and by his maternal grandparents, Harold C. and Helen A. Connare.

Michael attended Ss. Cosmas and Damian Grade School and graduated 3rd in his class at the Punxsutawney Area High School with the Class of 1990. He graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame at Notre Dame. Michael was a member of the Fighting Irish Marching Band and a computer lab supervisor. His degrees were in computer technology and economics.

Following college, he worked in Chicago, Ill., for four years and was employed by Coopers & Lybrand, Accountants and Tenneco Packaging Company.

In 2000, he received his MBA from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif. He was employed for 12 years by GAP, Inc. in product development and traveled the world on behalf of GAP. At the time of his death, he was employed by Levi Strauss & Company in San Francisco as a product development manager.

He was an active member of the Grace Cathedral congregation in San Francisco. He competed in and finished numerous Iron Man competitions in the United States and Canada.

His funeral service was conducted at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco on March 8, 2013, with an attendance of over 200 guests. A memorial service and internment will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2013, in West Lake, Ohio, at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
