New publishing group celebrates book launch for local author
PUNXSUTAWNEY — A new Punxsutawney-based publishing company, Unknown Authors LLC, will host its first-ever book launching event to honor one of its own, Dee Lyle, on the first printing of her children’s book, “Running With Miles.”
The book launching will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Walston Club, where state Rep. Sam Smith will honor Lyle on her noteworthy accomplishment.
Lyle, and her husband, Doug, are long-time local residents. Her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jason and Jennifer Bochert and grandson, Miles, to whom the book was dedicated, and Jeremy and Michelle Bochert, have since moved from the area. Her in-laws, George and Naomi Lyle, reside in Reynoldsville.
Dr. Kitty Lee Scott, founder of Unknown Authors and accomplished author, said local residents have called the book launching a “very unique event.”
Since many residents have shown great interest in attending the event, the Walston Club has graciously opened its doors for all interested guests. Pre-market copies of “Running With Miles” will be available, with Lyle signing your copy.
While the goal of Unknown Authors is to bring excellent literary works into the homes of residents by availing its publishing services to local authors, it also seeks new authors who would like to see their stories in print, but don’t know how to get publish.
Unknown Authors LLC, also offers writing workshops to assist new authors in bringing their talents to print.
“We help future authors accomplish their dreams, as one local woman has recently found out,” Scott said. “We applaud Dee Lyle and recognize for her talents and her dedication to bringing her story to print. We encourage everyone to come to this extraordinary event and help Dee celebrate this special day.”
