NEW INDUCTEES

To celebrate achievement and success, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) inducted 36 new members during an assembly Thursday at Punxsutawney Area Middle School.

(Front, from left) Carolyn Barnett, Brandon Bennett, Paul Brauer, Mikeelee Brink, Nicholas Brothers, Abigail Calvert, Madison Cary, Nicole Cromley, Brandon Douthit, Morgan Doverspike, Ivy Ferko, Braxton Giavedoni and Nichole Heitzenrater were many of the new members being inducted.

Throughout the ceremony, speakers elaborated on the traditions of the NJHS.

Further, all new members were able to light membership candles off the candles representing the five attributes: Scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. Other members inducted during the ceremony include Sarah Johnston, Ryan Jones, Shaylee Kennedy, Kainat Khuram, Kara Kunselman, Carter Lellock, Nathan Lingenfelter, Alexis Martin, Lauren McGee, Adam Milliron, Braden Neal, Ivy Phillips, Nathan Ray, Ariel Robinson, Alexis Smathers, Claire Smith, Cody Smith, Brooke Stello, Julia Voris, Jared Weber, Emma White, Joseph Whitman and Kaleb Young.

To conclude the presentation, the new members recited the “Honor Society Pledge” and were presented with certificates, cards and pins by Mr. Constantino and Mr. Montgomery.
