Nellie M. Rugh-Lowers, 64

Nellie M. Rugh-Lowers, 64, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Shippenville.

She was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Alliance, Ohio, a daughter of the late Louis W. and Blanche (Finnegan) Lowers.

Ms. Lowers loved reading and talking with family and friends. She was a kind-hearted person, a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Heidi Rugh of Shamokin and Lisa Rugh of Batavia, N.Y.; two brothers, James Lowers of Ohio and Don Zeigler of Brookville; a sister, Laura B. Shaffer of Brookville; four grandchildren; and her long-time companion, Ricky Ligenfelter of Punxsutawney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Rugh; two sisters, Joanna Clayton and infant Mary Ann Lowers; and an infant brother, Robert Lowers.

Arrangements are private for family and under the direction of the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
