Nancy L. McGaffic, 69

Nancy L. McGaffic, 69, New Castle and Jefferson County, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Brookville Hospital after a short illness.

She was born Jan. 16, 1942, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Orloff D. and Garnet W. (Linton) Hoover.
June 8, 2001, she married Joseph McGaffic, who survives.

Mrs. McGaffic graduated from New Castle High School and later studied nursing.

She was employed as a hostess at the Meadows off-track racing center in New Castle for 15 years and retired in 2004.

An art dealer at one time, Mrs. McGaffic owned and operated her own art gallery in Columbus, Ohio.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved shopping and simply spending time outdoors at her home in Jefferson County.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two granddaughters, Kelsey and Kenzie Christlieb; and two step-sons, Wayne and Donald McGaffic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only daughter, Dawn Lynn Christlieb; and her step-father James McGaffic.

Friends will be received 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Weichman of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church officiating.

Interment will take place next to her parents in Oakpark Cemetery.
