Motorcyclist airlifted after Saturday wreck in Oliveburg

OLIVEBURG — The operator of a motorcycle was injured when he lost control of his bike at 9:03 p.m. Saturday on Route 36, Oliveburg.

Mike Coleman, Oliver Township Volunteer Fire Company assistant chief, said the operator of the motorcycle was traveling on Route 36 when he lost control, which caused his bike to skid down the road, coming to rest in front of the former location of H&H Supply.

Coleman said the victim was flown by STAT MedEvac helicopter from the field adjacent to the Oliveburg Post Office to Altoona Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police were assisted at the scene by Jefferson County EMS and the Oliver Township Volunteer Fire Company; Punxsutawney Central Fire Department set up the landing zone.
