Mona Elaine Davidson, 73

October 9, 2013

Mona Elaine Davidson, 73, most recently of Lemoyne, Pa., passed away on Monday, Oct. 7, while in the company of family, at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Pa. Mrs. Davidson is formerly of Freeport, PA.

Mona was born in Ernest, Pa., on March 24, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Lorena Rebecca (Shafer) Lettie and Elmer Leroy Lettie of Punxsutawney. She was one of seven children, with two brothers and four sisters. She was a 1957 graduate of Punxsutawney Area Joint High School.

Throughout her life, Mona was a caring and active church member. She dedicated so much of her precious life to teaching and molding others, especially the youth. She was a beloved Sunday School teacher and Missionette girls' leader who positively impacted many lives through her service and dedication to the Lord over a span of 50 years.

Mona was full of life, her personality and laughter could fill a room. She thoroughly enjoyed the company of others and was often involved in organizing church dinners and other social events.

Raising two boys of her own, she still found time to be an active PTA president by coordinating numerous activities at South Buffalo Elementary School.

Mona loved anything "Country!” She tastefully filled her walls and shelves with country treasures, rearranging them often with the change of the seasons. She loved her "country blue" colors, a theme that you can see throughout her collections.

Our lives are so much richer and fuller because of "Gramma" (Mona), because she filled our hearts with so much love, life and humor. We already miss the love and tenderness that she showered on us all without measure. God Bless everyone that knew her, and God bless Mona as she wings her way to heaven.

Mona is survived by her husband of 51 years, J. Glenn Davidson; her two sons and daughters-in-law Kevin Bryan Davidson and Donna (Vrijenhoek) Davidson of Baltimore, Maryland and Jeffery Alan Davidson and Amber (Good) Davidson of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; her sister, Dorothy Clark of Clymer Pa.; and her grandchildren, Danielle Monique Davidson, Summer Jenae Davidson, Jailyn Faith Davidson and Brooke Lael Davidson. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and his wife Alan and Fran Davidson of Mahaffey, and sister-in-law Joyce (Johnson) Davidson of Batesville, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, Leroy "Bud" Lettie, Darrell Lettie, Jane Davis, Arlene Hankinson, Doris Humm; and her only grandson Robert Michael Davidson.

Family and friends will be received on Friday Oct. 11, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Evangel Heights Assembly of God, 120 Beale Rd. in Sarver, Pa.

The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. following the visitation with Rev. John Kuert officiating.
