MMM-MMM GOOD! APPLE PIE CONTEST HITS THE SPOT

September 11, 2012

Last weekend, PRIDE hosted an Apple Pie Contest in downtown Punxsutawney, and despite poor weather conditions over the weekend, the event went over well. The winner was Destiny Sorge of Punxsutawney, who won $50; second place went to Kyle Woods of Mahaffey, who won a $25 Punxsutawney Gift Check; and third place was awarded to Katherine Hartzell of Punxsutawney, who won a gift basket. Pictured are Woods (left) and Martha Jo Rupert, chef and culinary instructor at the IUP Academy of Culinary Arts, representing Sorge.
