Minnie Emabel Brothers, 96, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Wellington Heights, Punxsutawney.

She was born Sept. 4, 1914, in Indiana County, a daughter of the late Clifford and Twila (Philippi) Hughes.

She was married to Bernard Brothers, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Brothers was a homemaker and a member of the Rochester Mills Presbyterian Church.

Surviving relatives include a son, Clifford Brothers and wife Ruth of Anita; two daughters, Betsy Gaston and husband Huck, and Marie Powell and husband David, all of Punxsutawney; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a step-daughter-in-law, Grace Brothers of Cookport.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Bernard Brothers; and a sister, Ruth Steele.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Darla Revennaugh officiating.

Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rochester Mills Presbyterian Church or the Pine Grove Cemetery.
