Mildred M."Millie" Gearhart-Anibaldi, 89

Mildred M. Gearhart-Anibaldi, 89, DuBois, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at DuBois Village.

She was born April 8, 1923, in Cloe, a daughter of the late I. Roland and Alice (Baun) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Anibaldi.

Mildred worked for 25 years at Brown’s Boot Shop in Punxsutawney.

She enjoyed knitting and making afghans and dishcloths. She also loved puzzles, shopping and dining out.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Roland Gearhart and wife Elaine of Punxsutawney and Barry Gearhart and wife Sandra of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Vickie Shugarts and husband William of Treasure Lake; four step-children; two sisters, Iona Smith of Florida and Delores Davis of Big Run; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Shugarts, Heidi Knox and husband Todd and Daniel Shugarts and wife Michelle; and two great-grandchildren, Kylee and Shane Knox.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alton, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dahrle Smith; and a sister, Marjorie Curtis.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor David Nagele officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Anibaldi's name to the Hahne Cancer Center in DuBois.
