Mildred Louise (Priester) Shaffer, 87, Valier, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 27, 1924, in McCalmont Township.

Oct. 10, 1942, she married Clinton Eugene Shaffer, who preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1993.

She previously worked at Sportswear and the Adrian Hospital. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of Eastern Star.

Her enjoyments were being at home with her family, cooking and cleaning.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Carol Shaffer and husband Larry Sr. of Cranberry, and Eleanor Shaffer of Valier; two grandchildren, Larry Shaffer and wife Tracy, and Stacy Fritts and husband Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Bradley Fritts; a sister, Grace (Priester) Brown and husband Robert of North East; and two companions, Missy and Janie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Carl Priester.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Punxsutawney, with Pastor Maureen Seifried officiating.

Interment will follow at the Oliveburg Cemetery.
