Mildred Jean Smith, 87

Mildred Jean Smith, 87, Punxsutawney, died after a short illness, Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Mahoning Riverside Manor.

She was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Earl W. and Thelma (Blume) Resinger.

She married Ralph R. Smith, who preceded her in death Nov. 9, 2004.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Cloe United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving relatives include a son, Thomas R. Smith and wife Mary Kay of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a brother, Robert Resinger and wife Dorothy of Lansdale.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mickey (Resinger) Young.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Oaklawn Cemetery, Cloe.

Everyone is invited to attend. Arrangements are under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Smith’s memory to the Cloe United Methodist Church, or the Punxsutawney Memorial Library.
