Mildred I. Snyder, 88

Mildred I. Snyder, 88, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born June 27, 1922, in Dora, a daughter of the late Hollie and Dora (Pearce) Himes.

Aug. 16, 1940, she married Dallas H. Snyder, who preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1971.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Dorothy J. Snyder and husband Thomas of Dora and Lavonne A. Homan and husband John of Cochranton; and two grandchildren, Jackie Snyder and Wendy Straub and husband Jay.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Himes.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastors Donald Pendley and Kenneth Alt officiating.

Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Ringgold.
