Michael S. Morris, 93

Michael S. Morris, 93, a resident of Hunter Personal Care Home, Aliquippa, died on his birthday, Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Heritage Valley Health System, Beaver.

He was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Horatio, Pa., the son of the late Peter and Catherine (Seaman) Morris.

He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.

He was also a member of the GCU Lodge No. 189.

Mr. Morris was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife, Elizabeth Morris.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Michael (Nancy) Morris of Beaver Falls, Daniel Morris of Center Township and Joseph Morris of Monaca; a daughter, Mary Ann (Raymond) Snyder of Monaca; two grandchildren, Clarissa Snyder and Heather Marie Morris; and three step-grandchildren, Andrew and Katherine Selby and Jennifer Barnett.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Dr., Ambridge, Pa.

A Panachida service will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, followed by a Divine Liturgy for the Repose of his soul at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church with Father David Bosnich
officiating.

Interment with full military honors provided by the Beaver County Special Unit will take place at 11:45 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

A Parastas service will be held this evening at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Hunter Personal Care Home for the loving and compassionate care extended to Michael during his stay there.

A memorial Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at 10:25 a.m., prior to the 11 a.m. liturgy at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church dedicated in memory of Michael Morris.

May his soul through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen.
