Michael Joseph Dubensky, 83

Michael Joseph Dubensky, 83, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Adrian Hospital, a son of the late Peter and Anna (Kostiak) Dubensky.

Mr. Dubensky was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Michael was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church.

He was married to the former Elizabeth L. Williams. She preceded him in death in 1977.

Michael shared 30 years of his life with Doris June Ansinger. She survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

He was a member of the Army & Navy Club and a former member of the Slovak Club.

He enjoyed his great-grandchildren, repairing things and gardening.

In addition to Doris, he is survived by four children, Joseph Michael Dubensky of Clarion, Tom Ansinger and wife Elaine of Mississippi, Richard Ansinger and Jody of Reynoldsville, and Connie Ansinger of Rossiter; eight grandchildren, Natasha Dubensky, Michael, Adana, Bretton, Jason, Richard and Kay-Lyn Ansinger and Kira Elbel; 21 great-grandchildren; and brothers Harold Dubensky of DeLancey, Peter "Lefty" Dubensky of Punxsutawney, Thomas Dubensky of Cranberry, and Desiderius Dubensky and wife Jo-Ann of Sharpsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; infant brother John Dubensky; and two sisters, Mary Magdaline Dubensky and Marie Kopas.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the funeral home, officiated by Father Simeon Sibenik.

Interment will follow at S.S. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
