Former Punxsutawney Area High School catcher Devin Mesoraco has become one of the top producers of doubles in the Triple-A International League, where he plays for the Louisville Bats. This week, he added four doubles to his season total.

Mesoraco's 26 doubles on the season for the Cincinnati Reds' affiliate is good enough for second in the International League, trailing Jim Gallagher of the Charlotte Knights by just one double.

Mesoraco started the week with five consecutive one-hit games, including last Saturday's 1-for-3 performance, during which he doubled and walked.

Sunday, Mesoraco went 1-for-3 with a double, a run, a walk and an RBI.

Monday and Tuesday were both one-hit days for Mesoraco, as he doubled each day, adding a walk Tuesday.

Wednesday was his most productive day in the run column, as he crossed the place twice during a 1-for-3 performance at the plate with one walk.

Mesoraco struggled at the plate Thursday, going 0-for-5 with a strikeout during a 4-3 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox.

He rebounded Friday night with a two-hit performance, though, as the Bats defeated the Toledo Mud Hens, 5-4.

Mesoraco currently has a .317 batting average for the Bats and has a team-leading 30 walks through 66 games he has played.

The Bats are currently 43-33, sitting 9 1/2-games back of the first place Columbus Clippers in the International League's West Division.

Friday's game at Toledo was the opener of a four-game series for the Bats, who will then return home for a four-game series against the Gwinnett Braves starting Tuesday.
