Merrian L. Sherry, 68

Merrian L. Sherry, 68, Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born Jan. 23, 1943, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late John K. and Bernice L. (Shirey) Sherry.

Miss Sherry worked for Loree Footwear, starting in 1959. Later, she was employed by National City Bank for 19 years and Marion Center Bank for 11 years.

Her life revolved around her family and friends. She loved traveling and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Surviving relatives include a brother, John P. Sherry of Cockeysville, Md.; a sister, Elva Yasolsky of Mesa, Ariz.; and a niece and three nephews, Patricia Yasolsky, Stephen Yasolsky, Michael Yasolsky and John B. Sherry.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011,at the funeral home with the Rev. Al Kimmel officiating.

A private interment will follow at Mudlick Cemetery, Armstrong County.
