Meredith Means, 85

Meredith Means, 85, of Orlando, Fla., died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her home.

She was born April 13, 1927, in Frostburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Clyde and Minnie (Newbold) Means.

She completed her medical training in histology in Boston, Mass., and was employed as a medical technician with various practices in Maryland, Washington, D.C., California, Texas and Florida during her working career.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Ruth Bixler of Vail, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marian Means, Ellen Means and Betty Daughenbaugh; and a brother, Robert Means.

A private graveside service will be held for family members at Hopewell Methodist Cemetery at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, Meredith requested donations be made to the Friends of Orange County Library System, 101 East Central Blvd., Orlando, FL 32801.
