Mazy W. Shaffer, 92, of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mazy was born June 24, 1920, in Shelocta, a daughter of the late Orie Kerner and Wilimina (Reitz) Kerner.

Mrs. Shaffer was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Shaffer.

Surviving relatives include two sisters, Maxine Seger of New Kensington and Marie Smith of Brookville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Ralph, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Arnold Kerner, Edward Kerner, John Kerner, Daryl Kerner and Jack Kerner; and two sisters, Josephine Kerner and Dollie Brocious.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the funeral home.

Private interment will follow at Coolspring Cemetery.
