Mary (McCurry) Minster, 57, Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011.

She was the daughter of Charlotte McCurry of Bakerstown and the late John McCurry.

She was married to Ernest J. Minster, who survives.

Mrs. Minster’s compassion and kindness was great, and she gave all for her family. She extended her heart to all and her love was felt by many.

Her commitment to caring for all children was demonstrated through her service as a catechism teacher and school board member.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include four daughters, Kristine Jekielek of Kane, Ashley Minster of Pittsburgh, Erin Minster and husband Evan Boley of Gold Beach, Ore., and Bridget Minster of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Andrew, Cora, Ruby, Chloe and Lucas; three sisters, Paulette Pocquette of Green Bay, Wis., Kathy Burke of Gibsonia and Ruthalee McCurry of Dormont; and four brothers, Jack McCurry of Pine Township, Bob McCurry of Bakerstown, Paul McCurry of Mars, and Jerry McCurry of Bakerstown.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard McCurry.

Friends will be received noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Bock Funeral Home Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at St. Sebastian Church, Ross Township.
