Mary "Martha" (Smorey) Clark, 91

Mary "Martha" (Smorey) Clark, 91, Wexford, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at Vincentian Home surrounded by family.

She was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Smorey.

She married Roy M. Clark Jr., who preceded her in death Dec. 13, 1960.

Martha was a loving homemaker her entire life and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Baba (as she was known) enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, baking (especially nut and poppy seed rolls), and she was an avid bowler. In her later years, she enjoyed Wii bowling, and it was difficult to beat her high scores.

She was the loving mother of children Jerry (Cheryl) Clark of DuBois, Susan Clark of Wexford, Nancy (Delvin) Lockard of Marsteller and David Clark of Tampa, Fla; the dear grandmother of Nicole Clark, Derek (Gina DePaul) Clark, Sonya (Mike) Arotin,Matthew (Michelle) Lockard and Douglas (Shelley) Lockard; the proud great-grandmother of Blaine, Amy and Allisyn Arotin, Devon and Zachary Lockard and Shane and Ashley Lockard; and sister of Dorothy (Harold) Behe of Trafford.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Albert and Julius "Jay" Smorey; and sisters Margaret Smorey, Florence Kraly and Valeria DePalma.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at the William F. Gross Funeral Home, Ltd., 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Road), Penn Hills.

Funeral prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, or Vincentian Home, 111 Perrymont Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
