Mary Magdelen Felix, 81

Mary Magdelen Felix, 81, Stump Creek, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at DRMC.

She was born Dec. 16, 1931, in Adrian, a daughter of Patsy and Ruby (Sabarich) Bevak.

She married Edward F. Felix, Sr. on June 3, 1951, at St. Adrian Church in DeLancey.

Mary was a graduate of St. Adrian Catholic School.

She worked at BF Goodrich, Rola Jensen in Punxy and Paris Cleaners in DuBois, from where she retired.

She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville.

Mary was active in her church, serving as a member and treasurer for many years of the Holy Rosary Society.

She always helped with church functions, especially during the Lenten fish dinners as part of the “Kitchen Crew.”

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Edward F. Felix, Sr. of Stump Creek; three sons, Edward Jr. (Malinda) Felix of Stump Creek, Timothy (Lori) Felix of Stump Creek and Jeffrey Felix and friend (Stacey Dressler) of DuBois; a brother, Samuel (Sandy) Bevak of Punxsutawney; a sister, Rose Shambelan of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren, Mrs. Chris (Erika) Getzik of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Chris (April) Pabst of Reading, Christopher (Mariasol) Felix of St. Augustine, Fla., Aaron (Brittney) Felix of Punxsutawney, Amanda Felix of DuBois and Katelyn Felix of DuBois; and three great-grandchildren, Miles Christopher Getzik, Isabella Felix and Valentina Felix.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Charles “Chucky” Felix, who died May 1, 1956.

Public visiting will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville with Fr. Richard Allen officiating.

Praying of the Rosary will take place at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at the A.B.V.M. Cemetery.
