Mary Leotta Reiter, 79, Big Run, died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Bell Township, a daughter of the late Russell Vern and Ethlyn Ruth (Nupp) Timblin.

March 5, 1954, she married Kenneth Olan Reiter, who preceded her in death Aug. 15, 2007.

Mrs. Reiter was a member of St. Phillips United Methodist Church, where she had also been a Sunday School teacher.

She had previously worked in the chenille department at Standard Pennant.
Mrs. Reiter enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to watch the Hallmark Channel, the Steelers and Pirates games. She was an avid bingo player and a member of the Big Run Volunteer Fire company auxillary.

Surviving relatives include four children, Timothy Allen Reiter of Punxsutawney, Russell Ira Reiter and wife Bonnie of Stump Creek, Virginia M. Maines and husband Samuel of Big Run, and Melinda R. Mlechick and husband James of Oklahoma; five sisters, Clarabel Rose of Punxsutawney, Elva Nelson of Bedford, N.H., Ruth Marchioni of Reynoldsville, Lois Lellock of Punxsutawney and Dolores Jean Clayton of Wells, N.Y.; two brothers, Merle Timblin and wife Evelyn of Bedford, Texas, and Russell Timblin and wife Jo Lou of New York; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Harvey H. Timblin.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the funeral home and will be officiated by Pastor Andy Cressman.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Big Run.
