Mary L. Lippert-Thorp, 79

Mary L. Lippert-Thorp, 79, of Grampian, formerly of Rochester Mills, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Knickerbocker Villa in Curwensville.

Mary was born July 14, 1933, in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Robert O. and Helen (Hoover) Blackburn.

She was married to William Thorp of Grampian. He survives.

Mary was a member of the CMA Church in Punxsutawney, where she worked for the district office for 31-and-a-half years.

She was the Indiana County, Grant Township Coordinator for ICCAP and the former treasurer of Pine Grove Cemetery.

She also attended the Quaker Church in Grampian.

In addition to her husband, William, she is survived by three sons, Rickey L. Lippert and wife Rita of Marion Center, Roger L. Lippert of Dallas, Texas, and Russell L. Lippert and wife Janet of Marion Center; two daughters, Renee L. Ridenour and husband Tony of Havelock, N.C. and Robyn L. Cochran of Indiana; two brothers, Richard Blackburn and wife Jane and Thomas Blackburn and wife Peggy, all of Curwensville; three sisters, Ann Mikesell and husband Donald of Clearfield, Esther Neeper and husband Leonard of DuBois, and Cathy Goodlin and husband James of
Purcellville, Va.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; Preston L. Lippert; three brothers, Samuel Blackburn, James Blackburn and Robert Blackburn; a sister, Ruth Bloom; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

Additional viewing will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating.

Private interment will be made at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Lippert's name to the
CMA Church in Punxsutawney or to the hospice of your choice.
