Mary J. “Josephine” Justice, 97, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at AM-PM Personal Care Home in DeLancey.

She was born Dec. 20, 1916, in Porter Township, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Barnett) Justice.

She grew up on a farm near Porter. She worked at Loree Footware Shoe Factory as a sewer for 30 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Justice of Punxsutawney;
two grandchildren, Keith Justice and wife Diane of Strattanville, and Kathy Geer and husband Kevin of Punxsutawney; four great-grandchildren, Cory Geer, Seth Justice and fiancé Aundrea Rhodes, Ethan Justice, and Tyler Geer; and one great-great-granddaughter, Gracilynn Rhodes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Justice; one brother, Preston Justice; and four sisters, Margaret Bish, Florence Elkin, Alvena Roush and Wilda Geist.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m., on Friday May 9, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014, at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Ritchey officiating.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Ms. Justice, to the First United Methodist Church, Punxsutawney, or to VNA Family Hospice.
