Mary Elizabeth Mohney, 72

Mary Elizabeth Mohney, 72, Reynoldsville, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was born May 8, 1939, in Reynoldsville, a daughter of the late Clair A. and Mabel Elizabeth (Hollenbaugh) Douthitt.

Sept. 14, 1968, she married Glenn Francis Mohney, Sr., who survives. They enjoyed 43 years together.

Mrs. Mohney was a member of the Bollinger Bible Church.

For more than 10 years, she sold Tupperware, which she enjoyed because she liked talking with people.

She really enjoyed her grandchildren, crocheting and working on puzzles.
In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two sons, Glenn Francis Mohney, Jr. and wife Beverly of Lancaster, and James Byron Mohney and wife Heidi of Waxhaw, N.C.; two daughters, Darla Jean Agnes and husband Douglas of Adamstown, Md., and Dolly Catherine Hamill and husband Patrick of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, Quinn, Cody and Joshua Mohney, Daphne, Delaney and Douggy Agnes, and Morgan and Caleb Hamill; two sisters, Dorothy Bouch and husband Ronald, and Edith "Peg" O'Harah and husband Larry, all of Reynoldsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Douthitt; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Douthitt.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. today at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Bollinger Bible Church in Reynoldsville officiated by Pastor George Stratton.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Reynoldsville Library.
