Mary Belle (Finch) Mottern Michaels, 82

Mary Belle (Finch) Mottern Michaels, 82, of Sprankle Mills, went to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, while at home.

She was born July 16, 1929, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Martin E. and Pearl (Neville) Finch.

Mary Belle married Cloy “Joe” Mottern, who preceded her in death. 

Oct. 30, 2002, she married Joseph “Bert” Michaels, who survives.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She enjoyed eating at Punxsy Phil’s and the Country Villa.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include a daughter, Kathy Bianco of Sprankle Mills; a step-daughter, Linda O’Connell and husband Regis of North Carolina; two sons, Randy Mottern and wife Debbie of Sprankle Mills, and Tom Mottern and wife Cindy of  O’Fallen, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Finch of Erie.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine Smith, Maxine Rice and Virginia Aldressio; and two brothers, Raymond and William Tangren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Punxsutawney, with Pastor Doug Dyson officiating.

Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Mary Belle’s memory to the St. John’s Reformed Church.
